We just finished our 10th annual banquet. We had over 300 in attendance. Our biggest crowd ever. We would also like to thank all who attended for their support.

Statement of Purpose
Why a federation of hunting dog fanciers? What do beaglers, coon hunters,
bear hunters, fox hunters, and bird hunters with pointers, setters and retrievers
have in common that they should unite to form a federation? The answer - They all
face a threat! The threat exists in attempts to deny our ancient, inherent, and
legal right to free cast our dogs be it for training, field-trialing, or hunting.
Sportsmen and sportswomen are constantly under attack by the news media, animal
rights groups, and by those who persuade the public to request the enactment of
laws, rules, and regulations restricting the use of dogs for sport hunting.
As a result, on August 5th, 1990, the Michigan Hunting Dog Federation was formed.

How is our mission accomplished?
Michigan Hunting Dog Federation achieves success
by creating a network of clubs, businesses, individual
members, legislators, etc., who are dedicated to our
purpose of maintaining the right to free cast our hunting dogs afield.
Coon Hunting is one of many sports enjoyed by Michigan Hunting Dog Federation Members
MHDF Purpose for Being
A. To protect the rights of individuals to free cast hunting dogs.
B. To oppose or work for and demand the revision and/or repeal
of any law or regulation which is biased against and/or discriminatory
in nature toward the objectives of this Federation.
C. To promote the passage of laws fulfilling the goals of the
Federation, by encouraging and cooperating with the proper authorities.
D. To oppose any organization or combination of organizations whose
activities or designs are detrimental to the interests of this Federation.
E. To promote and establish fellowship among its corporate members,
other sporting organizations, etc.
